Tami started her career in the beauty industry in 1984. After working in other salons along the eastern shore, in 1999 she opened her own salon in Fairhope, Alabama. Being a native of Fairhope, this seemed to be a natural progression.
During her career, Tami has been an educator for Tressa, a leading hair care manufacturing company. While working for Tressa, she had the opportunity to work with some of North America’s leading stylists including Martin Parsons. Under Mr. Parsons’ mentorship, Tami refined her special occasion styling techniques. Also, while working for Tressa, Tami was on the ground floor when their Colourage gel colour system was developed, giving her the opportunity to advance her skills as a colour specialist.
Tami has been trained in the Thermafuse f450 and Keratin Express Smoothing Treatment systems. She has attended J. Beverly Hills, Surface, Scruples, Alterna, and Schwarzkopf workshops, among others. She feels it is extremely important to obtain continuing education in her field.
Tami is passionate about being involved in her community. She is a member of the Downtown Fairhope Business Association, and is currently the American Cancer Society’s Area Trainer for Mobile and Baldwin county’s Look Good Feel Better program, and ACS’s Baldwin County Leadership Council President. She has served on the advisory board for Genesis Career College, chairperson for the American Cancer Society’s Baldwin County Gala, and Relay for Life team captain. Tami has enjoyed being involved in local theater, both behind the scenes doing hair and make-up, and on stage, Mardi Gras organizations, and other civic and church organizations. In her spare time, Tami enjoys riding her motorcycle with her husband, Ken, and their friends. She also enjoys spending time with her three grandchildren.
Hello my name is Color Junkie and I’m an addict. I have been chemically dependent my entire adult life, I can’t get through a day without using. I can’t get through a night without dreaming about using. I spend my days with other addicts who mix and dispense my chemicals, and my friends and family financially support my habit. It appears there is no permanent solution to my addiction, other than to surrender to it. So, pass the bottle, mix the chemicals, grab the foils. Lets do some Color! ~
